CLINICAL HAEMATOLOGY
Clinical Haematology is branch of clinical medicine which deals with diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders and blood cancers.
Haematology department at Deenanath Mangeshkar Offers wide range of services ranging from outpatient clinic, inpatient day care facility, laboratory, blood bank & bone marrow transplantation under one roof.
There are highly qualified doctors which includes a Clinical Haematologist specialised in haematology, haemato-oncology and bone marrow transplantation, leading the clinical services (Adult & Paediatric) along with a Haemato-Pathologist, supporting in haematopathology services.
We have dedicated Haematology daycare ward which has adequate manpower (Nurses / Doctors) who are trained to handle chemotherapy drugs, which allows us to give chemotherapy on outpatient basis.
In addition we also have advanced blood banking services with platelet aphaeresis, leukodepletion, irradiation facilities etc. - essential for high end complete haematological services.

Bone marrow Transplant Unit
Department has 4 bedded HEPA – filtered Bone marrow Transplant Unit with dedicated, trained nursing staff. The unit became functional from 2007. The unit caters to adult as well as paediatric patients. Both allogenic and autologous stem cell transplants are regularly being performed. Allogeneic transplants include sibling, unrelated, haploidentical and cord blood transplants which are all being performed.
Haematological diseases like Leukaemias, Lymphoma, Myeloma, Aplastic anaemia & Thalassemia can be cured by Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).
This facility will be further upgraded to an 8 bedded unit in the near future.
