Dr. Manish Dastane, DNB (Ortho), Joint Replacement Fellow (USA), AO-Fellow (Aus), is a Puneit and an alumnus of Garware High School and Fergusson College, Pune. He completed his MBBS and Orthopedic Residency from B.J. Medical College & Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. He earned his National Board of Examination, New Delhi certification in year 2005. After a short stint as a Clinical assistant at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai and as Consultant at BARC Hospital, Mumbai he migrated to the United States of America.
Dr. Dastane was selected for the ECFMG ( Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, USA) sponsored University fellowship training program in Joint Replacement Surgery at the Arthritis Institute, Centinela Freeman Hospital, Los Angeles, USA. At the institute he was trained in various aspects of Hip-Knee Replacement surgery under the able guidance of Dr. Lawrence Dorr who was then the president of American Association of Hip & Knee surgeons. After the 1st year of fellowship he continued with Dr. Dorr for two more years at the University of Southern California Hospital of the Good Samaritan, Los Angeles. He received advanced training in Computer Navigation and Robotic Hip & Knee Replacement Surgery. He also completed various surgical audits and performed clinical research in adult hip-knee Arthroplasty. He published more than 10 scientific papers in major peer reviewed journals such as JBJS (Am), Clinical Orthopedics & research, Journal of Arthroplasty etc.

He returned to India in year 2010 and started his practice in the city of Pune. He has done more than 2000 major Orthopaedic surgeries and replacements. He was recently selected for the coveted AO Trauma Fellowship at the University of New South Wales’ Liverpool Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He has completed the American Heart Association ATLS certification in year 2012. He is AO, Trauma (Switzerland) member and is a national faculty at various AO fracture fixation courses in the country. He is also a faculty at various Hip & Knee Replacement conferences and very much active in Orthopaedic education & research.
Dr. Manish Dastane likes to travel, hike and has represented his School and medical college in various sports such as Cricket and table tennis.
