Dr Sumedha Dandekar has completed her dental sleep medicine residency at Tufts School is Dental Medicine , Boston . She has also completed a residency at Pankey institute at Florida , USA. Her work entails an initial counselling with her patients, understanding their sleep routine and giving them advice on good sleep hygiene. The patients are scheduled for a sleep test at the end of the first appointment . The next visit the findings of the sleep test are discussed and detailed intra oral examination is carried out to understand any anatomic variations . Following this intra oral impressions and bite registrations are made and sent to the laboratory to fabricate a sleep device ( mandibular advancement device ) Further follow up appointments are required to adjust the device and a follow up sleep study is advised . Follow up is advised after every 30 days
